He was educated at the Municipal Academy of Fine Arts in Hasselt and courses at the Summer Academy in Salzburg, among others.

Member of Art Circle Pro Arte. Together with Walter Vilain he started the graphic studio: Atelier Remans-Vilain (opened in 1965). He was also part of the Helikon group where he took the place of Lucienne Porta who soon disappeared from the group.

Besides painting, he also makes watercolors, drawings, pastels, etc., mainly with landscapes, sea views, still lifes and nudes. Since the 1980s, he has also been involved in compositions, copper and bronze sculptures. It also evolves into the abstract during this period. Also made many sculptures in recent years.
