Nico Vrielink, born in 1958 in Reusel (North Brabant), felt a strong attraction to an artistic career at a young age. He trained at the Academy of Arts in Belgium and later became a teacher, although this only lasted one year. After graduating, he left for the Far East, where he met his current wife Jeane in Singapore. This meeting would mark a turning point in his life, as Jeane has become a constant source of inspiration in all of his artwork.

Nico Vrielink's work is part of important museum, corporate and private collections, and six books have been published about his work and life. He uses the academic method, working from dark to clear. In addition to his well-known subject Jeane, Eastern mysticism is also a theme that particularly appeals to him. Even in Jeane's paintings we see an increasing serenity and reserve, with the backgrounds increasingly imbued with mysticism.

Nico Vrielink owns a beautiful castle and estate in France, which inspires him to create his breathtaking canvases. However, he lives with his wife and their two children in Bali, where the Balinese people inspire him to express the inner world of people. He considers life in Bali as a guideline for his artistic growth.
