Description

Jean-Michel Folon discovered a new form of expression in ceramics and worked on his creations in silence for many years. His working process included shaping, sculpting and firing the clay in ancient ovens, with the result always remaining a mystery until the moment of revelation. As Folon himself said: “The moment of magic is opening the oven… The fire can bring you a gift from heaven.” This quote sums up the essence of Folon’s work, in which he was always looking for that one moment of wonder and surprise.
