BEACH ELECTRIC PATT 23 ON A TRIPOD

British Vintage floor lamp (50s) designed as a studio theater lamp.
This iconic example of British design was created by “BEACH LIGHTING COMPANY” at the Covent Garden factory in West End London. The PATT 23 Long Nose Profile Spotlight was one of the workhorses of the theater industry of the 1950s.

Unfortunately, most of these floodlights have been lost or destroyed making the intact specimens rare examples of original British “Industrial design”.

They were used in the “PALACE THEATER” and in “SHAFTESBURG AVENUE” and in many famous performances such as “THE SOUND OF MUSIC CABARET” and “LES MISERABLES”

Due to its design, the light is excellent and does not have a ventilated housing. This lamp has an extendable lens tube with a 6 inch convex lens. The lamp has undergone a very good restoration.
