Te Wierik was born in 1954 in Hengelo, Overijssel. His parental family moved to Haaksbergen because of his father's work. Te Wierik was an autodidact as an artist. He was both a sculptor and painter. Because of his health, he increasingly focused on painting. In the last years of his life Te Wierik lived and worked in Rekken in Gelderland. His work has been exhibited in and outside the Netherlands, including in Germany and the United States. Te Wierik was also an illustrator, musician, poet and writer. He died in August 2002 in Haaksbergen at the age of 48.
