Description
Guillaume Lo-A-Njoe (Amsterdam, 1937) is a Surinamese-Dutch visual artist with a powerful and expressive style. His work is characterized by the use of bright colors, robust textures and a mix of abstraction and figuration. Lo-A-Njoe is inspired by his Caribbean roots, urban dynamics and social themes.
His oeuvre consists of paintings, drawings and mixed media, in which he often experiments with materials such as sand, plaster and oil paint. These techniques give his work a tangible layering and make each piece unique.
Lo-A-Njoe studied at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam and exhibited his work both in the Netherlands and abroad. His art is in various private and museum collections.
